Information We Collect

Account Information. When you sign up, we collect your name, email address, and phone number (for verification). If you sign in with Google, we receive your email and name from Google.

Connected Account Data. When you connect your Instagram, TikTok, or X accounts, we receive access tokens that allow us to post content on your behalf. We do not access your direct messages, followers list, or other private data beyond what is required to publish content you authorize.

Video Content. You upload recorded livestream videos to our service. We process these videos to generate highlight clips, captions, and card identification data. Uploaded videos are stored securely and are accessible only to you.

Generated Content. Clips, captions, and metadata generated from your uploads are stored in your account.

Usage Data. We collect standard analytics such as pages visited, features used, and error logs to improve the service. We do not sell this data.

Payment Information. Billing is processed by Stripe. We do not store your full credit card details on our servers.

How We Use Your Information

• To provide and maintain the HitReel service
• To process video uploads and generate clips, captions, and identifications
• To publish content to your connected social accounts at your direction
• To send you service-related emails (account, billing, security)
• To improve our AI models and detection algorithms in aggregate, anonymized form
• To prevent fraud and abuse

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with:

• Service providers who help us operate (Supabase, Cloudflare, OpenRouter, Mux, Stripe, Modal, Twilio, FingerprintJS, Sentry) — each under contractual data protection obligations
• Social platforms (Instagram, TikTok, X) when you direct us to publish content
• Law enforcement when required by valid legal process

Data Retention

• Account data: retained while your account is active and for 30 days after deletion
• Uploaded videos: retained for 30 days after upload by default, unless you request deletion sooner
• Generated clips: retained while your account is active
• Backups: may persist for up to 90 days after deletion in encrypted backups

Your Rights

You can:

• Access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time from your account settings
• Request a copy of your data
• Disconnect linked social accounts at any time
• Close your account, which triggers deletion as described above
• Email [email protected] for any data request

Children

HitReel is not intended for users under 18. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

International Users

HitReel is operated from the United States. By using the service, you consent to your data being processed in the U.S.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app notice at least 14 days before taking effect.
